Seniors' awareness of the care allowance
ZDĚNOVCOVÁ, Dominika
This bachelor thesis is focused on the care allowance, and how users over the age of 65 view it, which was also the first research goal. The second goal of my bachelor thesis was to find out the sufficiency of the care allowance for these users. A qualitative research approach, a semi-guided interviewing method and inquiring techniques were selected in order to complete the practical part of the thesis. The interviews were conducted with nine users of social services in Sezimovo Ústí, who are 65 years of age and older and who receive a care allowance. The thesis consists of a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part I deal with formal and informal care, and especially the care allowance as such. The practical part evaluates the statements of all informants, which were evaluated by the formation of tufts and, last but not least, a summary of the entire bachelor's thesis, evaluation of the fulfillment of set goals and answers to research questions. This bachelor thesis can provide information about the importance of the care allowance for the elderly and serve as an indicator of the current perception of the care allowance by users.
Intergenerational Solidarity In Terms Of The Non-formal Care
VAVROUŠKOVÁ, Edita
The issue of eldercare has been increasing both political and public interests. Families are the main eldercare providers at present. At present it is mainly the family who provides care for elderly dependants. The aim of the thesis is to map this issue and to ascertain the eldercare development over the course of the years, the position of a caring family member and possible help by other family members and by the healthcare system. Population aging is currently an increasing problem in all countries. The Czech Republic also ranks among those states. The problem of providing elderly care is both present and future. It is important to provide the care system of elderly members of the society, which emphasises the key role of the support for caring family members. Independent care is also very difficult to ensure. The thesis deals with the issue of eldercare, the support for the family members caring for elderly dependants. Historical and current senior care development, actual issues affecting aging population and the influence on the quality of life of the caring family members are discussed in the thesis. The thesis deals with possible future development of informal care. The thesis also defines the terminology of the topic above mentioned, for example "senior age, aging", etc. Requirements for becoming a senior carer and ways of the care and elderly dependant needs and possible proposals for positive changes of the system are discussed.
Long-term carers as clients of social work
RYSKOVÁ, Kateřina
This bachelor´s thesis deals with the subject of long-term carers. It aims to discover whether long-term carers consider themselves to be clients of social work and what kind of help they expect to receive from a social worker. The theoretical part of the thesis is based on scientific literature and publications which deal with the topic of long-term caregiving. They are mostly literature or publications containing terms such as formal care, informal care, caregiver motivation, caregiver burden or social work, social worker. I chose the strategy of qualitative research, namely the method of a semistructured interview. The interview I have led with informants consisted of 11 questions. The purpose of these interviews was to find out who a social worker is according to longterm carers, whether they consider themselves to be clients of a social worker and what they expect from him/her. After obtaining the necessary information the interviews were transcribed and analysed through clustering. It ensued from the results of my research that long-term caregivers could not define a social worker nor his/her duties. Social workers were often confused with carers or social service workers. It was further suggested that long-term carers considered themselves to be social workers despite not knowing what his/her work includes. They expect a social worker to help them with taking care of a close person, ensuring hygiene and relieve a close person being taken care of of his/her pain.
Long-term Care And Non-formal Persons Caring For Clients
POUZAROVÁ, Dana
The aim of the diploma thesis themed Long-term care and the informal persons caring for clients is to identify both positive and negative aspects of the long-term care and its influence on physical and mental condition of persons taking care and their closest relatives. At first, the thesis deals with the issue of long-term care in the Czech republic and its division into two categories, formal and informal. Furthermore, the thesis presents the situation of the informal caregivers who have to face various obstacles arising from the nature of long-term care, such as their complicated relation with the formal institutions, lack of financial support, worsening of their lives' qualities and also lack of social recognition of their status. In order to retrieve the relevant information within the scope of the research question, the method using half-structured interviews was used. The research sample consisted of 7 female respondents from České Budějovice and its surroundings who were taking care of persons between the age of 5 and 71 years. The pesons suffered either physical or mental disorders. Some of them suffered both physical and mental disorder. At the beginning of the research the caregivers received two main questions. The first question was focusing on their perception of the current system of rules for informal caregivers, whether they support it or not. The second question aimed on describing the biggest positives and also the setbacks related to the care of person with some kind of disorder. The outcome of the interviews was that if a person decides to care of a close person with disorder there is a wide network of social services provided for him, even though it could be definitely improved. The issues which could be improved are primarily financial income of caregivers, accessibility and afffordability of relief services, providing more information and education for the informal caregivers, and last but not least the opportunity for caregivers' self-realization and their position at the labour market.
Factors that influence the choice how to take care of Senior
TĚTKOVÁ, Barbora
The bachelor work deals with the issue of care of an elderly person within the framework of a formal and informal care. The main goal is to find out which factors and information are essential for the decision: how to také care about an elderly person. By an expplorational postulate the fortune of family members and the availability of social services are estimated like the factors which have an impact on the decision. The theoretical part is composed into two parts. The first half is aimed on elderly people from an aspect of age, changes, needs and guality of life. The issue dealing with demographic aging is also mentioned. Contemporary this is often discussed issue even in connection with an insufficient capacity of retirement houses. The second half is aimed on a care, concretely on a formal and informal way how to také care of en elderly person. The explorational part was made with a help of a gualitative explorational strategy. For the collection of data was chosen the technic of narrative research with a supplement of the technic of a half-structured interview. During the interviews the technic of an observing was used so as the paraphrasing for better understanding of the communication partner. For the research 8 informants were addressed. They were chosen based on the way of taking care of an elderly person. From they statements it resulted that the most important factor during the deciding is a reason of an addiction of the elderly person. The factors regarding to living, location of living and expectations of family memebers are also importnant. The factor dealing with finance was decisive in those cases when family members of an elderly person were in a working relationship. The factor dealing with the availability of the social services and its importnace during the deciding were not confirmed by the research. Results of the research demonstrated the importance of some factors during the deciding about the way how to také care of an elderly person. These results can be default for processing of future strategies for the Ministry of occupation and social within the framework of the issue dealing with the taking care of an elderly person, concretely for the improvement of the conditions of the employed people, who decide to také care of their parents, who are not self-sufficient. The reasearch also shows other imperfections in 6 the area of knowing of the population about care and therefore it could be a suggestion for creating new strategies focussing on uprating of knowing.
